Meet the Founder
Shanava Saintolien
Hailing from Miami, FL, Shanava Saintolien is an educator, entrepreneur, and emerging researcher whose passion for teaching began at age 16. She earned a B.S. in Mathematics with a minor in Economics from Florida State University and an MBA with a concentration in Business Analytics from Florida International University. A former classroom teacher, Shanava is now an adjunct business professor and founder of Saint Tutoring, a math-focused tutoring company that has served students across Florida, New York City, Georgia, North Carolina, Mississippi, and Alabama. Drawing from her own experiences as one of the few Black women in many of her college courses and growing up the only girl among four brothers, she later founded She M.A.T.Hs. (formerly Black Girls Who M.A.T.H.), the nonprofit arm of Saint Tutoring. She was motivated by a desire to create a space for sisterhood, connection, and mentorship—where Black women and girls could find support, share their passion for STEM, and thrive together.

With over a decade of experience in education and nonprofit leadership roles, Shanava remains committed to creating opportunities that inspire and equip learners. She is currently a doctoral student in Information Systems, where her research interest lie in exploring how data analytics can be leveraged to strengthen nonprofit organizations—particularly in the areas of fundraising, donor engagement, and program delivery. She is passionate about using evidence-based insights to help mission-driven organizations measure their impact, optimize resources, and design programs that create lasting change.
