Our STEM Cohort Program begins with a 3-week summer intensive designed to equip girls with both academic and real-world skills to thrive in STEM and beyond. Our programming blends academic rigor with life skills and wellness, ensuring our girls are confident, well-rounded, and prepared for college and career success. The learning and mentorship continue beyond summer, as we meet one Saturday per month throughout the school year for workshops and bonding experiences that foster both academic and personal growth. Once admitted into the program, we commit to supporting our girls academically and personally all the way through high school graduation and college as well.

Here's a video recap of our summer 2024 program

SAT Prep

This portion of the day will focus on preparing students for college entrance exams. Students will learn test-taking strategies, review key math and reading concepts, and practice with real exam questions to boost their confidence and scores. Individual test prep can continue after the summer program for those who need additional preparation.

School Year Math Prep

Through targeted lessons, guided practice, and activities, students will build a strong foundation for success in their upcoming coursework.

Technical Skills + STEM Workshops

Over three weeks, students will gain technical skills tailored to the summer’s focus, which varies each year based on cohort interests. Alongside this core skill, they will participate in weekly STEM career workshops covering topics like AI, coding, web design, lab research, healthcare, and engineering. The program culminates in a capstone project, showcased at the BGWM End of Summer Showcase.

Life Skills

This segment of the day is dedicated to equipping our girls with essential life skills to navigate both college and adulthood with confidence. From financial management and professional development to personal care and communication, students will gain practical knowledge in areas such as resume writing, interview skills, public speaking, sewing, skincare and makeup, cooking, and more. Our goal is to prepare them not just for academic success, but for life beyond the classroom.

Wellness

We prioritize our girls’ physical and mental well-being, recognizing that a strong foundation in health is essential for navigating academic and professional journeys. Through activities like boxing, yoga, barre, healthy cooking classes, journaling, and guided girl talks, participants learn practical strategies for self-care, stress management, and personal growth. Led by experienced facilitators, our wellness sessions create a supportive space for girls to connect, reflect, and build resilience together.

Off-Campus Experiences

Each week, our girls step beyond the classroom to explore new environments and gain real-world exposure. We kick off with Sisterhood Day, a bonding experience that fosters connections before the program officially begins. Throughout the program, students engage in community service, tour local colleges in South Florida, and participate in Industry Day, where they visit worksites to experience firsthand what it’s like to work in STEM and math-related fields. These experiences provide valuable insights, inspiration, and a deeper understanding of future academic and career opportunities.
