Bio

Esther Benette graduated from Glades Central Community High School in Palm Beach County. While in high school, she dedicated herself to serving her community through volunteering at the First Haitian Baptist Church Youth & Children Development Center. This helped to ignite her passion for math and education. Esther continued her educational studies at Florida State University. While at Florida State, she began to see lot of the inequities in our current education system and her passion for education grew. She knew she needed to work towards making a positive impact on the current education system. Esther graduated from Florida State in 2016 with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics Education. Upon graduating from Florida State, Esther was offered a teaching position at Lincoln High School in Tallahassee, Florida. She taught math at Lincoln for the six years before transitioning into her new position at Raa Middle School. Esther received a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Education Policy and Leadership from American University in 2020. Over the last two years, she has worked with the Standards and Instructional Branch of the Florida Department of Education as a content developer and facilitator for the new B.E.S.T.
